“Every obstacle is an opportunity”

My introduction to fitness began with running cross country and track & field. I started running in high school and quickly saw rapid success and growth within the sport. I spent all 4 years in high school competing at a National level. After graduating, I accepted a scholarship to run Division 1 at SUNY Albany where I continued to grow as an athlete. Unfortunately, I was sidelined with many injuries during my 4 years of D1 cross country and track & field. After graduating from college, I began to look for ways to keep myself healthy and avoid the overuse injuries that were plaguing my running career. That is when someone suggested to me that I try CrossFit. It was the first time in my life I felt challenged. Running came very naturally to me. Even though it was difficult, I was very good at it. For the first time in my life, I struggled athletically and I was immediately hooked. I knew I wanted to get better and learn everything I could about CrossFit.

After coaching Division 3 Cross Country and Track & Field for a college in Brooklyn, I decided to make a change and try to make it as a CrossFit coach. My favorite part about coaching is watching athletes have an “aha!” moment, where something clicks for the first time or they learn a new skill. I feel so grateful that I get to do what I love everyday. It is so rewarding being able to share my passion with others.
