1. How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you start?
I started CrossFit 2 years ago when I made a big career move and joined Sun Life Financial in Wellesley. I was excited to find out there was a fitness center that just opened on campus. After my first class I was hooked to this style of exercise that I never knew about before, and made a lot of new friends at work!
2. What do you do when you’re not at TILT?
I like spending time with family and friends, traveling, doing yoga, cooking, watching all types of shows like Shark Tank or investigative documentaries. I’m usually spontaneous and go with the flow!
3. What is something most of TILT doesn’t know about you?
I have a strong Polish background. My dad is one of ten and my mom one of seven, and they were the first in the family to immigrate from Poland to the U.S. I spent most of my summers in the farming village of Bącza Kunina where everyone called me “Amerykanka” (American girl). It was like a second life that was very minimalist and traditional, and detached from technology. It’s probably why to this day I am comfortable being without my phone or computer. Last year my phone broke and I think I waited 3 months before getting a new one.
4. Favorite CrossFit movement?
Box jumps or wall balls. I like how you have to mentally focus on a target and your body is somehow able to generate the power to reach that target.
5. Favorite workout song?
All the Above by Maino ft. T-Pain. Reminds me how far I’ve come and motivates me to always keep grinding!
