“A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.”

I started doing CrossFit in the summer of 2017, before my senior year of college. I was working a summer internship, not playing any ice hockey, and engaging in a more “tradition” form of exercise (Monday was legs, Tuesday back, etc.). It was then that a family friend encouraged me to try CrossFit and she thought I’d both enjoy it and be good at it (still not too sure if I’m “good” at it). I did a google search for CrossFit boxes around me and dropped into a few free classes, got hooked, and never looked back. Having been an athlete my whole life, it turned out (and I didn’t realize it until I started CrossFit) I craved being in a group setting, the challenge, both physically and mentally, and the competition – Crossfit quenched that thirst!

CrossFit is so unique because of the community, the dash of competition, and the fun atmosphere! Being able to engage in that both as a coach and as an athlete (I love going to classes and learning from my fellow coaches) I feel incredibly lucky!
