Pace out your burpee pull-ups so your reps are consistent throughout. Modify this movement as needed to keep your transitions short. Your DB weight should be light enough to hang on to for 1 to 2 sets at most switching arms every 5 reps.

A classic benchmark workout here for all athletes! We’re looking to work the double under but we can treat it as a skill piece as well. We can do so by setting time domains for each round. You can also sub in a alternate jumping movement. The Ab-mat sit-ups can fatigue fairly quickly so this movement should be done with a pace that can be repeated each round.

Seeing that there is a short amount of rest for this workout, you should start out conservative and ramp your pace up towards the end. Sprinting for 2 minutes will only set you up for fatigue and you will not be able to recover so let’s ease into this one. Total calories will be the goal for today.

The goal for today should be to ascend in load across your sets. With that said, mechanics should be your main priority from start to finish. The back squat and deadlift will fatigue quicker than the shoulder press so start out lighter for those lifts. All sets and reps should be completed in one set without splitting that set up.

Sgt Major Jerry Dwayne Patton, 40, died on 15 October 2008 during High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) training while assigned to Army USSOCOM preparing for deployment to Afghanistan. Jerry is survived by his wife Molly and his sons Chad, Cody, Chase and Connor.

WOD Guidance
This is a challenging physical and mental workout. Each interval should be taking you 8-10 minutes. This is a pace style workout so your first mile should not be all out. We’re looking for a 2 minute pace on the row. The last mile should be tackled with the thought in mind about going all in on your last 400m. Scaling options for this workout can be 3/4 of a mile for the Run on both ends and 1500m Row. A bike can be subbed in for the run.
